I have a black screen of death, no cursor, no way to get into safe mode, totally and utterly unresponsive, unlike the trusty iPad I am writing this on. Hi I have a similar problem, windows 8 got upgraded without my permission to After the upgrade all seamed in working order. I shut it down. On the next day i boot and get black screen. Monitor would even say no video signal detected, tried the on board video, same story, and there is nothing I can do to make anything show up on the screen.

Created the win10 boot disc, started the pc with it, I can hear the win10 booting chord, but still no video. I have a similar problem on a Dell N laptop. I get the startup logo screen and then the screen goes black.
